The Snowdrop room

Physical Play

The children in the Snowdrop Room will be developing their gross motor skills, their balance and their hand-eye co-ordinator as they explore the large play equipment in the playroom and the hills in the nursery gardens.

Heuristic Play

The children have the opportunity to explore the natural household resources in the heuristic play areas as well as the hand made 'feely gloves' and discovery bottles. These encourage their natural curiosity, sensory development and fine motor skills.

Songs and Stories

The Snowdrop room has introduced a story and song time into the daily routine. We will be choosing a story of the week which relates to the children's current interests. We have also introduced a prop box which contains a variety of resources relating to songs and nursery rhymes so that even our youngest children can choose which songs we sing.

Outdoor Play

The children in the Snowdrop Room love to explore the gardens in the nursery grounds. They particularly enjoy accessing all our outdoor resources, including the climbing frame.

They develop their gross motor skills exploring the climbing frame as well as developing skills in turn taking, language development and friendships.

Have a look at our gardens the next time you are in!
